Tenery Scholarship
The Tenery Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 to honor and recognize Dr. Mayo and Barbara Tenery for their unselfish service to the youth of Central Presbyterian Church. Application for this undergraduate scholarship fund may be made by any church member, Presbyterian Children’s Home and Services student, or any senior graduating from a high school in Waxahachie. Contact the church office to receive an application which will include an essay, two letters of recommendation, an unofficial high school transcript, and the school where you plan to attend. There will also be an interview. Awarded funds go directly to the school where the student will be studying after graduation.
Holly McMillian Thompson Memorial Scholarship
The Holly McMillian Thompson Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Holly McMillian Thompson. Holly was diagnosed with cancer on March 30, 2018 and passed away March 13, 2019. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial aid to students pursuing teaching or nursing degrees. The scholarship is limited to Waxahachie High School graduating students. Each year one student will be awarded a scholarship of $500. Contact the church office to receive an application which will include an essay explaining the student’s desire to be a teacher or nurse, as well as an unofficial high school transcript and two letters of recommendation.
