A Celebration of Austin Opus 809
This year on the Sunday after Easter, Central Presbyterian Church celebrated 100 years of worship in the present building. Along with the building, our Austin organ was first used on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1919. The contract for the construction and installation for the organ was signed on May 9, 1918. A concert celebrating 100 years of the Austin organ will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 3:00 pm. Randy Arey, the present organist for over 18 years, will present the celebration concert. He will present works by Bach, Buxtehude, Dupre, Schumann, Shearing, Wesley, and Vierne, to display the diversity of sounds of the organ.
Please plan to attend this special 100 year celebration of the Austin organ at Central Presbyterian Church. Be sure to invite friends and family to attend.
