Friends in Christ,
I am excited to be offering a five-week book and DVD-based Lenten study this year on Adam Hamilton’s Unafraid: Living With Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times.
Lent is a season in which we reflect on our mortality, and I cannot think of a better time to explore the worries and fears that we all experience and to address them in the context of our faith.
During this study, we will learn to identify fears and discover practical steps for overcoming them, all in the light of Scripture.
Each class will cover four chapters of the book. You are welcome to order a copy of the book through the church for a donation of $15. Contact Johnna by Tuesday, March 12 in order to ensure that you have time to read the first four chapters prior to the first class meeting on Wednesday night, March 20.
Here is the schedule for the class, all of which will be on Wednesday night, beginning at 6:15 p.m.:
March 20: Understanding and Countering Fear.
March 27: Crime, Race, Terrorism, and Politics.
April 3: Failure, Disappointing Others, Insignificance, and Loneliness.
April 10: Apocalypse, Change, Missing Out, and Finances
April 17: Aging, Illness, Dying, and Fear of the Lord.

I am looking forward to seeing you Wednesday night, March 20, for our first session!
