Schedule of Services

Sunday Service

11:00 AM

The 11:00 a.m. service is the cornerstone of our services featuring worship with the traditional Presbyterian liturgy, scripture, prayers and pastoral message enhanced by the music of the Chancel Choir, Jubilate Ringers, the pipe organ, grand piano and special instrumentalists.  Music is an integral part of the worship service at Central Presbyterian Church.  Music of instrument and voice combine to make a joyful noise to worship and glorify our Lord.  Music at Central Presbyterian Church is considered an act of worship.  It is not just a show or performance but an integral part of the service.

Children's church is available for kids 3rd grade and under except for communion Sundays which is the first Sunday of every month.  Kids spend the beginning of the Worship service with their families, and after a brief sermon from our Director of Discipleship, the children go to the undercroft for an age appropriate lesson and activity.  Parents may retrieve their children at the end of the Worship service.  For families who choose to stay and worship in the sanctuary together, there are children's "Worship Bags" available by the front doors which contain crayons, paper, books etc. to help those little ones through the Worship service.  Thank you for kindly returning those bags at the end of the service.

Special Worship services are held throughout the year.  In the spring, services are held during Lent such as Ash Wednesday and Holy Week. On Easter Sunday, an outdoor sun-rise service is held in addition to our 11am traditional service.  Each May the youth of the church lead the entire Worship service for "Youth Sunday."  Traditionally CPC holds their 4th of July Worship service in the historic Chautauqua Auditorium in Getzendener Park followed by a picnic.  In October, a stirring all-Gospel music service has been held.  The last Sunday in October is Reformation Sunday in celebration of the Protestant movement.  People are encouraged to wear their plaid or family tartan and enjoy listening to the bagpipes.  In November, CPC honors veterans with a special tribute during Worship service including the Olde Glory presentation.  Each Christmas Eve, an unforgettable Candlelight service is held in celebration of the birth of Jesus.

Youth Worship on Wednesday nights during the school year is contemporary style from 6:30-7:30pm upstairs in the youth room.

Nursery is available during all Worship services.
