Discipleship
And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in His grace until His task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.(TLB) Philippians 1: 6
Being a disciple means to follow Jesus, grow in Him and share his Good News. For all of us,discipleship begins with our personal experience with Jesus Christ. This experience will differ with each individual, but for all of us it will involve our response to Christ’s invitation, “Come, follow me.”
Follow Jesus: follow and obey the teachings of Jesus. Ask yourself in your daily life, “What would Jesus do?”
Grow in Him: Seek spiritual growth opportunities. Allow teachings of Jesus to penetrate your heart and mind. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, your life will change from the inside out.
Share his Good News: Tell others about Jesus. Teach by example. Love is not just a thought or feeling, it is an action. Love your neighbor and be a giver.
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 (NLT)
The Discipleship and Education Ministry Team of CPC strives to reach out to people of all ages as they travel on their faith journey. We take the promises made at a child’s baptism to heart by committing to nurture and love our children, and guide them to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Opportunities to experience the love of God and grow in your faith includes Bible education, outreach activities, music and fellowship.
We are thankful for our talented and dedicated volunteers who lead the church family in our various Bible studies throughout the week, including Sunday School for all ages. It is our mission to offer the kind of education and environment where all may know Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
