Beverly Everett Organ Concert
On Sunday, December 18th at 4pm, Beverly Everett will be giving a free organ concert at CPC featuring Christmas music and other selections.
A little about Beverly Everett…
Dr. Beverly Everett is a 1988 graduate of Waxahachie High School. After graduation from high school, Everett attended Baylor University where she studied organ with Joyce Jones. She holds degrees in organ and conducting Baylor where she was a Presser Foundation scholar and from the Uiversity of Iowa where she earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts.
Dr. Everett remains an active concert organist, conductor and music director. She is currently the music director of the Bismark-Mandan Symphony Orchestra and the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra. She was recently named as Bismark-Mandan Business Watch magazine’s “40 under 40” for making a difference through her work. She is one of six conductors in the nation to receive an “Excellence in Music Education” by American Prize.
She believes in being a positive role model for young people. She was invited to be a guest speaker at Cottey College’s Institute for Women’s Leadership and Social Responsibility where she spoke on Women’s Leadership in Performing Arts.
Dr. Everett is being inducted into the Waxahachie High School Fine Arts Hall of Fame by the Waxahachie Ex-Students Association on December 10, 2016.
